A kid-friendly river adventure: gentle pace, family-favourite menus, a Junior Ranger activity book and planting a tree together.
Route: Kumai - Tanjung Harapan - Pondok Tanggui - Camp Leakey
Designed for families with children aged four and up. The schedule includes an afternoon rest, forest trails are short and flat, and the crew prepares child-size life jackets and dishes little ones enjoy. Along the way kids fill in their Junior Ranger book: logging the animals they spot, learning to tell bird calls apart and, on the last day, planting a tree in the family's name. A joyful trip that also teaches what it means to protect nature.
The plan may adapt to river conditions, weather and wildlife behaviour.
Airport pickup, life jackets and Junior Ranger books for the kids, then lunch on the klotok. In the afternoon watch the Tanjung Harapan feeding and race to spot the first proboscis monkey on the riverbank.
Morning feeding at Pondok Tanggui, an afternoon rest on deck, then Camp Leakey for the afternoon feeding. After dark, kids learn to recognise insect sounds and count fireflies.
Plant a seedling together in the family's name and collect the final stamp in the Junior Ranger book, then head back to Kumai and the airport.
